Correct seasoning is essential to maximize the combustibility of the wood.

We have adopted the continental method of cutting the wood into 1 meter length and splitting to a regular size to ensure even seasoning. The resulting “billets” are then stacked on a suitable site – sunny aspect & windy – for up to two years, depending on species.
Seasoned billets can then be cross-cut to your requirements.
FACT – CO2 released from burning wood is equivalent to CO2 absorbed by the tree during its growing life.
i.e. unlike other fuels burning wood is CARBON NEUTRAL. |
